New podcast puts Island potato farming industry in the spotlight

Remembering is easy we do it every day but there is a hole within our hearts that will never go away.

Spudchat will give listeners insight into the potato farming industry and share tips on pest and disease management, soil health, crop rotation and more, according to an April 26 release.

The show is hosted by Ryan Barrett, research and agronomy specialist at the P.E.I. potato board. New episodes will be produced every Wednesday, with the first episode up to listen now, said Wayne Townshend, chair of the P.E.I. Potato Board.

“Farmers are getting information in a variety of different methods,” said Townshend. “Podcasts, which can be downloaded and listened to at a convenient time, maybe when in the tractor or the truck, is another way to share information on innovative technologies and improved practices with our membership.”
