MOMBOURQUETTE, Brian “Benny”

We the family are saddened to announce the passing of Brian “Benny” Douglas Mombourquette on September 27, 2022, in Hospice Cape Breton, Membertou. Brian was born and raised in Whitney Pier, he was a son of the late Louis and Jean (Muise) Mombourquette. Brian worked with horses for a few years. Then began working at the Salvation army in Halifax, Manitoba, then to Fredericton where he lived for many years with his wife the late Krista (Wilkins) and their precious fur baby Bella. Brian is survived by his brothers, Joe (Betty) and Leo; sisters, Paulette (Angus)

Pearson, Charlene (Hughie) MacDonald; sister-in-law, Helen Mombourquette; and brother-in-law, Gordie MacDonald; father and motherin-law, David and Margo Wilkins; and sister-in-law, Karrie Whalin of Public Landing, N.B.; also, several nieces and nephews. Brian moved back to Cape Breton this year and lived with his nephew Brent Mombourquette who cared for him in his time of illness. quette in 2019; brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter (Dorothy), Alex (Mary), Louie (Kaye), Michael and Johnnie (Lorraine). Sisters and brothersin-law, Joan (Michael), Florence (Alex), Anna (Allan) and Louise; sister-in-law, Dale, and 6 nephews and 2 nieces. Brian and Krista loved to travel and the cer

tainly did a lot of that in their time together. Visitation will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel from 2-4 p.m. followed by a service in the Chapel at 4 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Thomas Whent officiating. The funeral service can be viewed on the Sydney Memorial Facebook page.
