Wedgeport Legion to mark Korean War armistice anniversary
This weekend the Wedgeport Legion Branch 155 will hold its third annual ceremony to commemorate the Korean War armistice and end of active fighting in Korea.
A ceremony will be held at the legion hall on Saturday, July 24, at 11 a.m., followed by a wreath laying and a reception.
Area veterans and the Wedgeport Legion's three living members who are veterans of the Korean War will be recognized.
There will also be presentations of 13 Korean Ambassador for Peace Medals, awarded this year, to area
Korean War veterans and families of deceased Korean War veterans.
The Korean War ran from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953.
The public is invited to attend, although due to COVID-19 restrictions the seating arrangement will be by separate tables and chairs, which will limit the number in attendance.
