N.L. playwright shortlisted for literary award
ST. JOHN’S - A Newfoundland and Labrador playwright and performer has been named a finalist for the 2021 Governor General’s Literary Awards in the drama category for his newly published play, “Crippled”.
In an Oct. 14 release, Breakwater Books said Paul David Power has been named one of five finalists in the drama category after “Crippled” brought in awards and glowing reviews for Power’s portrayal of his experiences as a person living with a disability.
Now in a published form, his story of challenge, loss and redemption presents universal themes and emotions told through a voice that is not often heard in the mainstream.
The complete list of finalists can be found at www.ggbooks.ca.
