SYDNEY — A 33-year-old man is facing a host of charges in connection with a robbery Monday in North Sydney.

Kenneth Cardan Marsh of View Street is charged with three counts of breaching court orders, two counts of assault, and single counts of mischief and uttering a threat.

The offences are alleged to have occurred June 7 in North Sydney.

After a brief provincial court appearance on the charges, Marsh consented to be remanded pending his next court appearance slated for June 15.

According to police, the robbery occurred at the Circle K Irving.

Police were told a man entered the store, demanded cigarettes and money and threatened to hurt the clerk if he called police.

After grabbing items from behind the counter, the suspect made an attempt to flee the scene but was held by two customers also in the store at the time. The suspect did manage to escape the scene.

Marsh was arrested at a property on Union Street. Marsh was on release conditions at the time having been previously charged with unrelated offences.
