David Wilson seeking election in Rustico-Emerald for Island New Democrats

MISCOUCHE, P.E.I. — Former Miscouche councillor

Pat MacLellan is seeking the Liberal nomination in Evangeline-Miscouche to run in the upcoming provincial election.

“There's a lot of issues that need action, whether it be the environment, housing, and our health-care system,” said MacLellan. "We need to implement the solutions to these problems now.”

MacLellan served on Miscouche council for eight years. He has also represented the Prince County area on the board of the Federation of P.E.I. Municipalities

He currently works at StandardAero in Slemon Park.

He has also been a minor hockey coach and manager, served on minor hockey boards and plays and officiates hockey.

NORTH RUSTICO, P.E.I. — Teacher and community activist David Wilson has announced his intention to run in Rustico-Emerald for the Island New Democrats in the upcoming provincial election.

“I know how much people are worried about what's coming next. I can't believe how expensive things have gotten,” said Wilson.

“Whether it's gas, heating homes, food, or rent, something has to give. And that's why I'm putting my name forward for the Island New Democrats.

“I want a better quality of life for everyone.”

Wilson received degrees in business administration and education from Mount Saint Vincent Univesity in Halifax and has taught in Nunavut, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

He currently works as a high school substitute teacher.

Wilson has volunteered in minor hockey, long-term care, and palliative care and hospice.
