Police seize drugs, imitation guns from New Minas home

Two New Minas residents are facing drug and firearms charges after police searched a home last month.
RCMP said officers from multiple police forces executed a search warrant at a Kings Crescent home on April 6. Three people were arrested at the scene.
The search yielded a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription medication. Officers also seized an imitation handgun, an imitation rifle, cash, and scales and packaging.
Mark Walter Harris, 48, and Deanna Lynn O'Neil, 36, are charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Harris is additionally charged with possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, while O'Neil faces two counts of breach of probation. Both were released under conditions and were scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court on May 23.
The third person arrested during the operation was released without charges.
