Who –

A 17-year-old from Gaspereau.

The latest –

Invited to attend Hockey Canada’s selection camp for the world women’s under-18 championship, which will be played in Wisconsin in June. The tournament was rescheduled after initially being cancelled. It was to have been played in Sweden in January.

Adam said:

“I think it’s really, really important that younger girls get to see this was rescheduled.”

This season –

Adam played for the Etobicoke Dolphins of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) under-22 elite league this season as well as Appleby College. Dolphins’ head coach Joe Butkevich said:

“It just shows this is a young lady and young athlete that is going to be successful undoubtably in the future.”

Did you know?

Wolfville’s Danielle McNally will be an athletic therapist with the under-18 team at the women’s world championship. Lucy Phillips, a goalie from Upper Tantallon, was also invited to the camp. She played for Halifax of the Maritime Major Under-18 Female Hockey League this past season.

Recent past –

Canada has won five gold medals at the event (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2019).

International exposure –

The worlds wouldn’t be Adam’s first international competition. In 2017, she went to France with the East Coast Selects as one of four North American teams put together by the Legacy Global Sports Group, an American organization.
