‘She’s really having a good time’

Hants County woman taps into creativity amidst COVID pandemic, launches jewellery line

Holly Fraser’s eyes twinkle whenever someone mentions her latest creative endeavour. During the pandemic, the long-time Kings Meadow resident discovered she has a knack for creating trendy earrings.

really having a good time,” said Alyssa Purvis, the program co-ordinator at Kings Meadow Residence.

Since tapping into this creative side, a ‘handmade with love’ earring line has been launched — and the feedback

has been quite positive.

Fraser, who grew up in Windsor, recently celebrated 15 years of living at the community-based group home that supports and encourages people with varying levels of intellectual challenges.

While Fraser has always enjoyed arts and crafts, the COVID-19 lockdown helped her nurture her inner artist.

“Holly made beautiful cat paintings last year. We made them into cards and they sold a lot. And she wanted to do more,” said Purvis.

“Holly is quite the fashionista. We brainstormed — what are we going to do next? What will be good?”

They decided to try to make earrings using polymer clay.

Fraser cottoned on to it right away.
