IN Pleads guilty to misleading police

TRURO - A Pictou Landing First Nation man arrested in connection to last September’s murder in Truro of a Sikh man has pled guilty to intending to mislead police.

On May 4, Marcus Michael Denny appeared via video for a show cause hearing in Truro Provincial Court and pleaded guilty to giving a falsified statement to police. He is to serve 45 days in custody, deemed served 30 days of remand at 1.5 days.

The charge for allegedly assisting Cameron Prosper’s escape after the murder of Prabhjot Singh Katri was withdrawn.

He is returning to court on June 15 for a sentencing hearing related to an impaired driving incident from last July.
