Go fly a kite this weekend at Digby Pines

Tidekite is once again offering a summer of kite flying activities in the region.

On it's Facebook page it says thanks to the sponsorship of the Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa, everyone is welcome for a kite flying show to ‘Touch the Sky' and fly one or more kites for free and a chance to compete to win prizes.

The weekend event will be held at the Digby Pines on Sunday, May 22, from 1-4 p.m.

“You'll see, learn and fly the most amazing and largest kites in your life,” the post reads.

In support of Bear River Eats, there will also be an opportunity to donate cash to help increase food accessibility.

Tidekite was founded in April 2017, and held its first event on June 24, 2017 in Belliveau Cove. Since then it has organized over 70 free kite flying events, especially during low tide, on the beaches of Nova Scotia. You can visit its Facebook page or website, www.TIDEKIT.ca, for information on upcoming events.

According to Tidekite, flying kites helps to strengthen the eyes; reduces stress; and opens the neck, particularly for those who spend a lot of time on the computer or sitting. It is also a great opportunity to socialize and enjoy nature.
