Key highlights of a new survey released on Nov. 19 by Ipsos and Movember include:

• 75% of Canadians feel the men in their life are less likely to share their mental health concerns than the women in their life

• 75% of Canadian men don’t know what age to start screening for testicular cancer; 59% of those are off by at least 20 years

• 65% of Canadian men aged 18 to 54 say they are overdue for a routine health check-up with their doctor

• 65% of Canadian men aged 18-54 are more aware of their own mental health when celebrities like Carey Price speak out about their own struggles

• 66% of Canadian men aged 18-54 have experienced mental health challenges since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic

• 80% of Canadian men feel they could do a better job prioritizing their mental health

• 38% of Canadian men aged 18-54 turn to online research when they first experience a potential health issue

• 84% of Canadian men feel comfortable speaking about their physical health, but only 70% feel comfortable speaking about their mental health
