Christmas festivities starting in Shelburne

Who-Ville and the first annual Miracle on Dock Street are headliners this year for Christmas celebrations in the Town of Shelburne. Atlantic House Park on Water Street, beside TLC Pharmasave, has been transformed into Who-Ville for the entire season, says Robin Smith, executive coordinator for the Town. “It has been made possible by many generous donations, volunteer time and support from: Andrea Huskilson Townsend, The Property People, Home Hardware Shelburne, Belliveau Veinotte, Shelburne Furniture, Catlin Perry, Andrew Chetwynd, Nicki Taylor, Therese Cruz, Shara Mahaney, Mary Ayer, Taylor Burton, Jessica Jurgenlienk, Danny Holmes, Shelburne & Area Chamber of Commerce, A1 Pizza, Brendan Pippy and the Town of Shelburne Community Participation & Volunteerism (CP&V) Committee,” said Smith. Santa will be visiting WhoVille on Saturday, Nov. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. Proof of Vaccination is required for anyone over 12. Also on Nov. 27, the Shelburne Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their annual Christmas Craft Sale at the Firehall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proof of Vaccination for anyone over 12 is required. Breakfast with Santa at the Firehall, also hosted by SVFD Ladies Auxiliary, is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 28 from 9 to 11 a.m. Proof of Vaccination for anyone over 12 is required. The 1st Annual Miracle on Dock Street Christmas celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4. Decorated stationary floats and vendors will line the closed streets of Water and Dock, welcoming attendees with festive cheer. Streets will remain open to vehicle traffic from 5 to 5:30 p.m. to accommodate those with mobility struggles. No proof of vaccination is necessary to stroll through the display. The Shelburne Guild Hall Market will also have a Christmas Market open. Proof of Vaccination for anyone over 12 is required to attend the market. The night will end with a holiday fireworks show at 8 p.m. The event has been made possible through community partnership, and in cooperation with all our community organizations and businesses, says Smith.
