CORNER BROOK, N.L. — A 19-year-old Corner Brook man has been released from custody after being arrested for robbing a store in the Curling area of the city on the night of March 17. Christopher Kendall was arrested and charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, disguise with intent to conceal identity during the commission of an offence and breach of a release order. The report issued by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary didn’t name the store, but a post on Facebook from Fox’s General Store shortly after the incident stated, “staff all OK.” Comments that follow confirm the robbery took place there. Police responded to the store at 9:16 p.m. that night. According to the RNC, a man is alleged to have entered the business and presented a weapon while demanding cash and cigarettes. After obtaining both, he exited the building and fled the area. Kendall was located by police in the Curling area later and the stolen items were recovered. The RNC’s criminal investigation division is continuing to investigate. Kendall is due back in court March 31.
