CAFÉ AT THE CAPE

Chilly morning winds and grey foggy skies didn’t provide the best of an outdoor backdrop, but a fine crowd did make their way up over the many wooden steps from the parking lot for the official opening of the Cape Spear Café on Thursday, June 1. The bakery is being operated by The Postmaster’s Bakery and is located by the two lighthouses on the hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean from the cafe’s hillsides. Among the first customers enjoying a warm coffee on the café’s exterior deck were Joan Ritcey and her husband, Klaus Hye-knusdsen, from St. John’s, as they awaited other friends to join them for a mug-up.
