YEO, Hubert Francis

January 23, 1926 – May 31, 2023

Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, age 97 years. Predeceased by his wife Myra Maude; parents Ellen and James Yeo of Torbay; sister Marie and Husband Frank Aylward; nephews Rev. Frank Aylward and Jerome Aylward; brothers–in–law James Vokey and Gordon Batten; sisters–in–law Mary Vokey and Cavelle Tetford and family friend Lily Tetford. Leaving to mourn his stepdaughter Sharon Reid; nieces and nephews Philip and Faith Aylward, Lar and Brigitta Aylward, Majella and Marion Aylward, Irene and George Burke; sister–in– law Pearl Batten and niece Donna Batten; many great nieces and nephews and great great-nieces and nephews, and members of the Reid, Andrews, Miller and Vokey families. Many thanks to the staff of Bishops Gardens where he resided for the last 20 months and the staff of the Glenbrook Lodge during his short stay there. Over the years, Hubert worked with the Americans in Pleasantville and in Greenland, but his later years were spent with Ultramar driving an oil truck. He will be lovingly remembered for his love of the accordion, jam jams and VOWR. He will be missed dearly.
