ANSTEY, Bruce Calvin

November 22, 1951-May 29, 2023

It is with very heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Bruce Anstey of Port Kirwan formerly of St. John’s, who died tragically doing what he loved to do, riding his motorcycle. He is predeceased by his parents, Annie and Charlie Anstey; grandnephews, Darryl and Michael Janes and special friend, Tina Evans and as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins. Left to mourn their sad loss is his partner and best friend for over 20 years, Roseann Evans; his children: Christopher (Isabelle), Michael (Aly) and Tegan (Arthur). His beautiful grandchildren: Ayra and Syrah of Ottawa and Bentley (mom Sam Burford) of St. John’s. His sisters, Linda Janes (Walt), Nova Scotia, Pam Penney (Roy), Goulds Pond, and Ramona (Scott), St. John’s. Nieces, Janet Foster (Robert), NS, Jaime Johnston (Mitch), New South Wales, Australia. Nephews, Robert Janes (Rachael), Mt. Pearl, Jason Penney (Laurie), St. John’s, Adam Butt, Timothy Randell, St. John’s and his namesake Uncle Bruce Simmons (Pearl), Greens Harbour, and many cousins and friends including Jill, Justin, Sam and Aaron Young, Mississauga. Special mention to Denis Trainor who was always there for Bruce and long-term friend Craig Power and Sheila Blundell, who many times had his place set at their table. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you to all the people who helped that night. Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to Fahey’s Funeral Home, Fermeuse. There will be a wake on Tues. June 6th, 2-9 p.m. with Mass on Wednesday, June 7th, at 11 a.m. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations to one’s favorite charity in his name is greatly appreciated.
