Annual Energy NL conference to explore future of energy capabilities

ST. JOHN’S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador’s energy leaders will gather to discuss the future of the province’s energy sector at the St. John’s Convention Centre on May 30.

The 2023 Energy NL conference will feature over 30 speakers, 57 companies, a demonstration stage and a tech market, making it the largest annual conference to date.

With an agenda that includes talks on both renewable and non-renewable energy sources, there will be discussions about the wind and clean fuels sector, pathways to net zero emissions, updates on offshore activities, among other topics.

The conference begins 8:30 a.m. with a detailed review of the energy potential of Newfoundland and Labrador, including the offshore, hydroelectricity, and carbon capture, utilization and storage.

The second session of the day will focus on the wind energy and clean fuels sectors with presentations by eight potential developers.

The afternoon will include a keynote address with native Newfoundlander and Labradorian Christine Healy, senior vice-president for carbon neutrality and continental Europe with Totalenergies, along with the BDC demonstration stage where Energy NL members will highlight their latest technologies.
