Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Joan Frances O'reilly, age 85 years. Predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) O'reilly; grandson, Michael Taylor; parents, Frank and Mary Fitzgerald; sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) and Patricia (Pat). Leaving to mourn, her children, Bill (Sharmaine), Barry (Mandy), Sean (Clara), Tim (Kelly), Anne (Ray), Mary Beth (Michael), and Maureen (Pat); 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also leaving behind brother, Frank (Barb) Fitzgerald; sister, Marie Hayes; brother-in-law, Robert (Pauline) O'reilly; sisters-in-law, Marie (Damien) Ryan, Margaret Cooper as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Also leaving to mourn are special friends ,Essie Flynn, our Thompson Place Family who were such amazing friends and neighbours to Mom, as well as her family from St. Patrick's Parish and the St. Anne's Society. The family would like to extend thanks and appreciation to Mom's new family at Lane's Retirement Living who surrounded Mom with friendship and care over the past year. There is also the amazing staff on 4 North B, Health Science Complex where the care and compassion shown to Mom and our family will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7th, from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, February 8th, from St. Teresa's Church, Mundy Pond Road at 2 p.m. with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the School Lunch Program.
