Privacy commisioner releases video on data privacy rights

Newfoundland and Labrador’s privacy commissioner is releasing a new video explaining a person’s privacy rights in the province.

The privacy commissioner is joining with other Canadian privacy oversight offices and privacy advocates in marking today as a day dedicated to data privacy.

The province said data privacy can be seen in many ways, but one standard is who gets to control a citizen’s personal information.

As technology is ever-changing, controlling who can collect, use and disclose personal information has become more difficult.
