HICKS, Dorothy

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dorothy Hicks on September 28, 2022, after a brief illness. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Dorothy; brothers, Archie and Jeffrey. Leaving to mourn her husband George; son Jamie (Catherine) and grandson Marcus (Katie); sisters, Sandra (Gary), Heather (Austin dec.), Hedley (Barb), Swinton (Marjorie) and a large circle of family and friends. If you stopped by to visit Dorothy and George, you weren’t leaving without a drink, or a snack! She made sure your glass was always full, she was a sweet lady who loved to entertain and feed everyone. She was a second mom to many, and always loved a crowd and had to see you off through the window. There was never a dull moment around Dorothy, from pranks and jokes to the best hugs, she was a force to be reckoned

with! Please join us for a celebration of her life at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John’s on Wednesday, October 5 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, October 6 at 1 p.m. at First United Church, 221 Park Avenue, Mt. Pearl. Donations may be made to First
