Two men charged after being found in stolen vehicle

Two St. John’s men are facing charges after police found them with a stolen vehicle in the city on Wednesday.

Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers found the stolen vehicle in the center of the city with two occupants just after 10 a.m.

Police contained the vehicle and arrested two men without incident, said RNC in a news release.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old man is facing charges of theft and robbery in connection with multiple events at Newfoundland Liquor Corporation locations in St. John’s.

He was held in custody to appear in provincial court.

A 41-year-old man, who was driving the vehicle, is facing a charge of possession of property obtained by crime and breach of a court order.

He was released from custody to appear in provincial court at a later date.
