LEON, Hayward Joseph

Peacefully, with his family by his side, Hayward passed away on May 21, 2022, at the age of 85. Hayward was born in St. Augustine, Quebec and is predeceased by his parents, Edmond and Alice (Lavallee). He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Madeleine (Hoskins) who he met while working in Bay d’espoir, Newfoundland in 1964. Beloved father to Brian (Andrea), Duane (Renee), and Tammy (Larry). Proud and cherished grandfather to Christen, Madeleine, Patrick, Hayward, Thomas, Stephen, and Sarah. Predeceased by his grandson, Nicholas. He will be remembered by his sister Stella Driscoll (Charlie). One of ten children, Hayward was predeceased by his siblings; Raymond, Herb, Hubert, Viola, Dilbert, Gloria, Alcida, and Carter. Remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services took place on Thursday, May 26th in Ottawa at Capital Funeral Homes.
