BYRNE, Sharyn N.

Mar. 31, 1951May 14, 2022 Passed away in the arms of her daughter and husband after a courageous battle with cancer, Sharyn Norman Byrne. Predeceased by her father,

Joseph Norman; mother, Alice Norman; brother, Bill (Tracy); and sisters-in-law, Jane (Ed) and Barbara (John). Left to mourn with 49 years of precious memories, her husband and best friend Ken, and her two children of whom she was so proud,

Adam (Veronique Rousseau) and Alyson (Martin Henri).

The joy of her life, which brought the biggest smiles, were her four grandchildren: Kate, Justin, Joel and Evelyn, who always managed to bring forth her creativity. Also left behind are her brother Don (Jen); aunt Sister Mary Taylor, with whom she had a very special relationship; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Ed, John, Bob (Cathy), Eileen (Lee), David

(Cathy) and Rose (Rick). She will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, as well as her “Bookbags," Bridge Group and Club Crowd. Sharyn cherished her long-time friendship with: Jim & Patricia Hurley, Anne Murphy, Laura Healy, Peggy Connors, Donna Power, Mickie & Stirling Blackwood and Gary & Florence Norris, though she valued every friendship she has had throughout the years. Sharyn’s main focus

was family and friends. She always put them first, whether babysitting or bringing muffins to help in a time of stress or need. Sharyn was a primary school teacher for 31 years and thoroughly enjoyed teaching the younger students, especially during the years she taught kindergarten. To her, every child was special and hugs were a staple of her educational plan. One of her main goals was teaching children to read, as books were a big part of her life; no baby shower that Sharyn attended was without books for the newborn. We would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of 4 North B of the HSC for their exceptional care given to Sharyn;

their kindness, professionalism and compassion will stay with us forever. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Caul’s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road on both Wednesday, May 18, 2022, and Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.– 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, with inurnment immediately following at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A celebration of Sharyn’s Life and Reception will be held at the Bowring Park Bungalow on

Friday, May 20, 2022, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sharyn had a

special place in her heart for the Gathering Place, so in lieu of flowers, please make a donation there in her name.
