CARING FOR SENIOR PARENTS AT HOME
Jenn’s Top 5 tips:
• Have their family doctor refer a social worker sooner than later because putting supports in place can be a lengthy process.
• Know your own limitations, and think carefully about what the change will mean for your family. • Consider what physical adaptations your home will need, and be willing to make them.
Think long term. Maybe they don’t need a grip bar today, but they might in five years.
• Research what kind of help is available, and advocate for your family.
