MARCH, P. Eng (Retired), R. Roger Gerard

June 12th, 1936 – October

18th, 2021. Passed away on Monday, October 18th, 2021 after a lengthy illness at St. Luke’s Long Term Care Facility, R. Roger Gerard March, P. Eng (Retired) in his 85th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 55 years, Sandra (Bursell), only son Roger, daughter-in-law Naomi and precious grandsons Erik and Sean March.

Also leaving to mourn are sister, Deanne Mahoney, sisters-in-law, Mildred Steinhauer, Phyllis (Don) Bugden, and nieces and nephews Sarah (Don), Kelly (Don), Fred (Ellen), David (Ruth), Renee, Jim, Laura (Joey), Denise, Michelle (Peter), Kelly (Walter), Ken (Tina), and Meghan; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

Pre-deceased by his parents, Ralph and Beatrice March, parents-in-law, Rex and Marion Bursell, sister June Martin (Gordon Pond), sister-in-law Patricia Bursell, brothers’-in-law Jim Mahoney, David Bursell, Rex Bursell, James Steinhauer Jr and nephew, James Steinhauer III. Roger’s family wishes to thank the staff at St. Luke’s home for their support and the compassionate and professional care shown to Roger. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22nd from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A service of Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at 1:00 pm at Wesley United Church on Patrick Street followed by internment at the Anglican Cemetery in Topsail. If you are planning to attend the service, proof of vaccination is required upon arriving. The service will be livestreamed for those who cannot be in attendance.
