STARR, Edward “Ted” Frederick

Of Dartmouth, NS, passed peacefully away Saturday, October 16, 2021 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born March 17, 1927, Ted was the son of Frederick and Dorothy (Stevenson) Starr of England. He grew up in Bay Roberts, NL and had a rewarding career in telecommunications with Western Union International in Bay Roberts and New York City. In his spare time and into retirement Ted enjoyed gardening and woodworking sharing many treasures with his family. He was a long time member and past president of the Kiwanis Golden K

Club of Dartmouth. He especially enjoyed his time volunteering with the elementary school breakfast program and driving the Red Cross Van. Ted dearly loved his

birth province of NL and thoroughly enjoyed his many visits ‘back home’ with family and friends. Whether he was camping, trouting or ‘boiling the pot’ he always brightened the day with a story or a joke. His warmth,

kindness and sense of humour will be long remembered. Leaving to celebrate his wonderful life are his wife of 69 years, Clara Frances (Pike) Starr, his children: Jean (Percy) Strong, Kathy (Albert) Benoit, David Starr; grandchildren: Christopher, Andrew (Jennifer), Blair (Charlene),

Renee (Josh); great-grandchildren: Lukas, Logan,

Madison, Alice, Henry, Quinn, Oliver and Norah; inlaws: Enid (Stick) Starr, Margaret (Pike) Brown, Henry Pike, Roy Pike (Eileen), Eileen (Mercer) Pike. Ted was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Dorothy Starr, sisters Eileen Starr, Iris Bishop (George), brother, Ron Starr; brothers-in-law,
