The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) said goodbye to a retired canine member of the provincial police force who died on Oct. 21.
In a Friday, Oct. 22 social media post, the RNC said retired RNC police dog Edge died Thursday morning after battling cancer.
The RNC said Edge’s handler, Sgt. Kevin Morgan, and his owner, Jim Hynes, were by his side when he died.
Police said Edge displayed an acute focus and strong work ethic during his time with the RNC.
Edge retired in August 2020 and moved on from policing to spend his days with Hynes, where he was highly cared for.
