‘Once Upon an Iceberg: Errol’s Twillingate Adventure’

“Once Upon an Iceberg: Errol’s Twillingate Adventures” is the third in a series: Errol’s previous escapades brought him to Bell Island and Gander.

This chapter book (with eight short chapters) is designed for young readers, with each section introduced by a full-page full colour image and pinned or bookended with black and white drawings.

It begins with Errol meeting a dog, who first frightens him, but only wants to be friends, something Errol doubts is possible.

“Gus’s head dropped. He looked so unhappy that Errol felt sorry for him. ‘How can we play when you’re so big and I’m so small?’”

But friends can always find a way. And when one needs to locate a member of his family, they’ll find a way to do that too. Keeping some wise parental counsel in mind:

“’Very well.’ Errol’s mother hugged him. ‘But be VERY careful. And don’t forget — be kind and helpful whenever you can.’”
