POWER, Michael

Michael (Mike) Joseph Power, age 71 years, passed peacefully away on July 18, 2021, in the presence of his loving wife and three children. Mike was the oldest of 10 children born to Angela and

Stanley Power in Conche, NL. At the age of 18, Mike moved to St. John’s where he attended College and met his loyal, supporting, and loving wife Tina (nee White), whom

he just celebrated 50 years of marriage with. In 1972, Mike and Tina moved to Churchill Falls and he began his career with CFLCO., where he developed a passion for labour relations while his family grew to include Michael, Kerilynn and Jason. In 1992, this passion carried him to Mount Pearl where he continued his interest in labour relations and began his career as an International Representative for IBEW Canada. His multitude of roles and responsibilities in the many facets of labour relations, provided wonderful memories and friendships throughout Canada and the United states, working closely with many union brothers and sisters, especially co-worker and friend Brian Matheson. He was a leader and pioneer in this Province, and influenced

and impacted many people in the labour movement until his retirement in 2017. His family was his proudest accomplishment especially his precious grandchildren, Chantel, Claire, Charli, Zoe and Ella. They were his true pride and joy, and courage throughout his fight. Mike was predeceased by his father Stanley (1995), mother Angela (2003), nephew Sean (2001), sister in law Kendra (2016) and brothers Ed (2018) and Steve (2021), as well as father in law Jack White (2007), mother in law

Annie White (2014) and brother in law Gordon White (2013). Leaving to mourn with broken hearts but a life filled with wonderful memories are his wife Tina, son Michael (Laura and Chantel), daughter Kerilynn (Toby, Charli, and Ella), son Jason (Denise, Claire, and Zoe), sisters Sheila (Ron Byrne) and Mary, brothers Dave (Nola), Larry, Gerry, George (Darlene), Neil (Tanya) and sisters in law Shelly and Karen, special friends Dave and Sylvia, Ena and Zaki, and Greg and Mona, as well as many other beloved members of the Power and White family.
