Man injures animal during break and enter

A man injured an animal during a spree of break and enters in St. John’s July 22.

In a July 23 news release, the RNC said it received several calls around 10:30 p.m. related to multiple break and enters committed by a man in the west end of St. John’s.

Police said the man was also suspected of injuring an animal in one of the homes.

Shortly after, police located the 29-year-old man, charging him with three counts of break and enter, possession of a dangerous weapon, injuring an animal, resisting arrest and breaching his release order.

Police said the injured animal received medical help and is expected to recover.

The accused was held in custody for a court appearance July 23.
