One man dead after single-vehicle car crash

A 21-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash early on July 23 in Rushoon.

In a July 23 news release, Burin Peninsula RCMP said they were called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision around 5 a.m. Police said a 21-year-old passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.

A 20-year-old driver was taken to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre for assessment and treatment.

Police said they are investigating whether the driver was impaired.

An RCMP collision analyst and the chief medical examiner are involved in the investigation.
