Police ticket two men, seize cars

Police say they caught one driver with no insurance and another with a suspended driving licence in Stephenville.

In a news release Friday, Bay St. George RCMP said traffic officers were patrolling Point au Mal on June 4 when they stopped a vehicle around 11 p.m. driven by a 23-year-old man with a suspended driver’s licence, for which he was fined.

While conducting morning traffics stops in Port au Port on Wednesday, police said, officers discovered a vehicle around 10:15 a.m. on Hynes Road driven without registration or insurance.

The driver, a 56-year-old man, was ticketed for the two violations.

The traffic stops cost both drivers their vehicles, which were seized and impounded.
