NATIONAL NURSING WEEK 2021
Seamus O'regan, Member of Parliament St. John's South - Mount Pearl
My mother Janet taught at St Clare’s School of Nursing for over twenty years. After school, I’d wait for her there so we could head home together. When we moved to Happy Valley-goose Bay, she was a long-term care nurse at the Paddon Home.
More recently, Julia White, a young nurse in St. John's, represented our riding at the virtual Daughters of the Vote 2021 and her leadership qualities were on full display.
Over the last year, I've seen our province's nurses and nurses across Canada stepping up to protect the public.
I grew up around nurses, nursing instructors, and nurses-to-be. I will never cease to appreciate their skill and their heart.
Today, their professionalism and empathy are keeping us all safe.
And this week, we all get to say — Thank You
