Historic buildings exhibit coming to Digby

CONTRIBUTED

An exhibit of pen-and-ink drawings of historic buildings by artist Dean Martin can be viewed during open hours in May at Isaiah W. Wilson Memorial Library.

Martin has been drawing off and on for more than 30 years. His work combines a love for local Acadian history and architecture with his passion for art. Originally from Montreal, PQ, the artist trained in the illustration and design program at Dawson College in the early 1990s. Ever since, he has been honing his eye for detail and strives to create life-like snapshots of historic buildings in pen and ink.

Martin moved to Yarmouth in 2018 after working 10 years in Manitoba. He immediately became fascinated with the Acadian region, especially Clare. The depth of rich history in the Tri-County region through its homes, churches, and businesses seemed the perfect subject for his particular medium.

The library is located at 84 Warwick St. in Digby.
