COVID-19 CANCELLATIONS • As of 6 p.m. Monday, March 16 the Marystown town office will be closed to the public. Staff will continue to process payments, respond to questions, etc. via telephone or email. Council meetings will be closed to the public — they will continue to stream live via Facebook. • The Marystown Fire Hall is closed to the public; firefighters will continue to operate as normal. • Town of Marystown recreational facilities (arena and Summer Games building) are closed to the public. • YMCA health, fitness and aquatics locations in Marystown and St. John's and all child care locations are closed until further notice as of 6 p.m., March 16. All payments will be put on hold with more information to follow. Employment, enterprise and newcomer programs will continue by distance. • The Burin Peninsula Supported Employment Appreciation luncheon (BMTB, Bridges, 3L) scheduled for March 28 is cancelled. It will be rescheduled at a later date. • All activities of the Placentia West 50 Plus Club have been cancelled for upcoming weeks. • All peer support groups, program workshops and community engagement sessions and in-person One-on-Ones at the CHANNAL Marystown office are suspended until further notice. Please reach out and connect with the Warm Line between 10 a.m. and midnight (1-855-7532560). James Bonnell, regional peer supporter in Marystown, will be available by phone (2790409) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday if you would like to connect with him personally. • The Smallwood Crescent Community Centre and Black Duck Cove Neighbourhood Centre has cancelled all social and community based programs for an indefinite period of time, effective March 17. Staff will still be working at the community centre; however, both centres will be closed to the public. They will be providing their best efforts to assist people through telephone calls, emails, and social media interaction. If you are currently enrolled in one of its employment programs, such as Transitions to Work or Linkages, please contact your employment counsellor or youth outreach coordinator for any assistance you may need. • All Eastern Health Breastfeeding Support Groups are cancelled until further notice.
