Arrests following drug seizure in Stellarton

Two men from Pictou County facing related charges

STELLARTON, N.S. — New Glasgow police have arrested and charged two Pictou County men after officers seized drugs and cash while searching a Stellarton home on March 8.

New Glasgow Regional Police said officers searched a home on March 8 around 8 a.m. on Bridge Avenue, where a quantity of cash, hydromorphone, diazepam, and cocaine were seized.

Officers arrested a 44-yearold man and charged him with possession for the purpose of trafficking and obstructing a police officer.

Police also arrested and charged a 27-year-old man with failing to comply with conditions of a release order.

Both men were released on an undertaking and will appear in Pictou provincial court on June 12. The investigation is ongoing.
