Pictou County Wellness Centre hosting production of Company March 23-25

PICTOU, N.S. - The Pictou County Wellness Centre is hosting a production of the musical play Company by the Rotary Club of Pictou from March 23-25.

The show features some of Pictou's most talented performers, including Randy Gilby, who will play the lead role of Robert (Bobby).

Company is a timeless musical play with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by George Furth.

The show premiered on Broadway in 1970, and its innovative approach to the musical genre has since earned it numerous revivals and accolades, including six Tony Awards.

The story revolves around Robert, a bachelor celebrating his birthday, and his interactions with his married friends, which highlights the complexities of love, marriage and commitment.

The production boasts a talented cast of local artists, including Mike Dignan, Allison Hartson and Karen Laundon.

Director Don Hill said the production has an amazing cast.

"While many will be recognizable from past Rotary productions, we’re excited to have some new faces on stage as well this year," said Hill.

"Each member brings a unique talent and perspective to their role, and I'm confident that their performances will be nothing short of outstanding."

The Rotary Club of Pictou has a long-standing commitment that is raising funds from the production to be used in community endeavors, locally and abroad.

Tickets for the show are available through the deCoste Centre box office or online at www.decostecentre.ca.

The production also features a St. Paddy’s Dinner & Theatre promotion, with three draws, one for each night, for a chance to win a pair of tickets and dinner at one of the nearby restaurants, including Appleseed, Boston Pizza and East Avenue.

Those who purchase their tickets by Friday, March 17, at 4 p.m. will be entered into the respective draws and stand a chance to have two tickets reimbursed, and receive a $150 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice.
