HALIFAX, N.S. — Applications are open for the Nova Scotia Heating Assistance Rebate Program.

In an Oct. 18 release, provincial officials said the program provides a rebate of up to $200 to low-income Nova Scotians who pay for their heat.

“Heating costs can be very stressful, particularly for people with a low income,” said Service Nova Scotia Minister Colton LeBlanc.

The income to qualify for the program is $29,000 for a single-income home and $44,000 for family-income households.

The program launched on Oct. 18 and runs until March 31, 2022.

In an average year, the program provides more than 45,000 eligible Nova Scotians with a rebate of up to $200 to help with home heating costs.
