Man arrested in relation to sexual assault

NEW GLASGOW — New Glasgow Regional Police arrested a Pictou County man after investigating a sexual assault that happened Sunday evening.

In a May 4 news release, police said the arrest is related to an incident that happened outside of a New Glasgow home on May 2.

Police said officers investigated and arrested a 24-year-old man on Monday morning in relation to the incident. He was remanded into custody.

The man is facing charges of sexual assault, assault, breech of a release order, uttering threats and assault causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in Pictou provincial court on Tuesday.

New Glasgow Regional Police said the investigation into the incident continues.
