Pictou County Solid Waste has postponed its annual compost giveaway event due to COVID-19. Compost will still be available to purchase in bulk

Its Spring Clean-Up will be held on regular collection days from May 3-14.

Things that will be accepted: 20 clear bags plus regular collection; an object, bag, or tied bundle; broken lawn chairs and plastic chairs; broken toys; toasters, electric kettle or small household appliances; broken dishes (safely packaged and labelled).

Things that will not be accepted: loose garbage, black bags, items over 75lbs, items longer than 4ft, electronics and appliances, metal items, leaf and yard waste (town leaf collection only) furniture including mattresses and box springs, tires and car batteries.
