Funding to provide accessibility upgrades to facilities

The Town of Three Rivers and Montague’s Inclusions East facilities are receiving $3.5 million in funding to help with accessibility upgrades.

The funding will be used to replace the current training centre by combining two existing buildings with a newly made part.

The replacement training centre offers a multi-sensory environment, a meeting space, an activity room, a music and art room, a craft room and accessible washroom facilities for people with disabilities.

The funding will also be used to expand Inclusions East’s operations for local youth and teach business skills training programs at its new building in the Town of Three Rivers.

Inclusions East Inc. executive director Nancy Anderson said the company is proud to partner with the federal and provincial governments to strengthen its commitment to promoting inclusion and providing accessible spaces to enhance programming.

“This allows us to open our doors for additional opportunities to those we serve and to our community,” said Anderson.

Additionally, the funding will help the company improve the safety and accessibility of its facilities and make its programming available to more people with disabilities.
