MUTTART (Irving), Norma

It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of Norma Muttart (Irving), who passed away at Prince County Hospital in Summerside, surrounded by her loving family, on May 31, 2023, at the age of 95. This beautiful soul was born on November 14, 1927, the daughter of the late George “Dewey” and Bertha (McLeod) Irving. In 1947, she married the love of her life, the late Wilbert Muttart, with whom she had two children, and two step-children. Norma is survived by her loving daughter, Betty Jean (Bill) Legge; daughter-inlaw, Jean (Blair) Muttart; and step-daughter, Lenore Leavy; grandchildren, Chris (Kristen) Legge, Kelly Legge, Jason (Suzanne) Muttart, Corey Muttart, Raymond Leavy, Rhonda (Brian) McCuaig, Deborah (Ken) Comer, Mary Lynn, and Earlene (Dale) Murray; 20 greatgrandchildren, and 28 greatgreat-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lyla Durette; her brother, Roy Irving; her sisters-inlaw, Joyce Irving, Roxanne Hansen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, George “Dewey”, and Bertha Irving; her son, David; step-son, Earl; greatgrandson, Joseph Louis Murray (infancy); brothers and sister, George Irving, Wilfred Irving, Sonny Irving, Ronnie Hansen, Franklin Irving (infancy), Ephran Irving (infancy), Tina Macina. Also predeceased by her brothersin-law, Dal Durette, Tony Macina; and sisters-in-law, Gisele Irving, Patricia Irving; step-daughter-in-law, Genevieve; and step-son-in law, Johnny Leavy. Norma’s passion was always her family. There was nothing she enjoyed more than being surrounded by them. She also found great joy tending to all her flowers on her beautiful property when she lived in Cape Traverse. Resting at the Lawless Funeral Home, 21 Somerset St, Kinkora, PE. Visitations on Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay, on Saturday, June 3 at 1 p.m. Internment in the St. Peter’s church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Norma’s memory can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Prince County Hospital or the St. Peter’s Church Cemetery Fund, Seven Mile Bay. www.lawlessfuneralhome.ca
