Fire department responds to 93 calls

The Charlottetown Fire Department answered 93 calls in April, an increase of 30 from the previous month.

Station one on Kent Street responded to 67 of the calls, including Five mutual aid with other emergency departments, eight cooking alarms, ix calls of smoke from a building and two calls for smell of smoke and four motor vehicle accidents. There were also 49 false alarms.

Station two on St. Peters Road answered 26 of the calls, including four mutual aid with other emergency departments, four cooking alarms, our motor vehicle accidents and one CO2 alarm. There were also 17 false alarms.

Fire statistics are included in the council package for each regular monthly meeting under the report of the protective and emergency services committee. The package is available on the city website.
