sw-briefs@saltwire.com

The provincial government has shared over $230,000 with P.E.I. high school students who volunteered at a registered organization in 2022.

The Community Service Bursary was given to 260 post-secondary students during the school year. The bursary is available to students who volunteer for at least 30 hours at a registered volunteer organization while still in high school.

Students in high school can register for the program at any time and accumulate volunteer hours until June 30 in their graduating year.

All volunteer work must be done with one or more registered volunteer organizations in the province.

Students have to complete at least 30 hours to receive the bursary, and it is capped at a maximum of 150 hours.

A list of the available registered volunteer organizations can be found at www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/information/communityservice-bursary-list-ofregistered-organizations.
