DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Public Schools Branch (PSB) director Norbert Carpenter presented his report at the first public meeting of the elected board of trustees Jan. 25. Here are some fast facts from his report.

• Enrolment in PSB schools is 20,199.

• A study into enrolment trends and facility capacity in five schools is nearing completion.

• Carpenter commended students and staff for their resilience after post-tropical storm Fiona.

• EAL and FAL student numbers are at an all-time high with 557 new students this year.

• Bus drivers will be transporting athletes during the 2023 Canada Winter Games, and all buses used will be electric.
