Acadian Museum of P.E.I. holding Christmas celebration Dec. 4

MISCOUCHE, P.E.I.- The Acadian Museum of P.E.I. is hosting a Christmas celebration to celebrate the history of Acadian Christmases on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Kicking off at 1:30 p.m., guests will be treated to a glass of hot cider and some Christmas tunes performed by pianist Edmond Gallant.

There will also be French readings of stories about how Christmas was celebrated in the past by Acadian families on the Island, with English translation available.

In between the readings, Jeannita Bernard and Juanita Arsenault will perform a few Christmas songs.

There are also activities planned for the kids.

Children can make Christmas decorations, and Diane Bernier Ouellette will entertain them with Christmas stories.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a naulet - a gingerbread man made with white dough – to the museum for the naulet contest.

The contest will feature children and adult categories, and guests can vote for their favourite naulets.

Prizes will be given to participants whose naulets receive the most votes.

Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held on Dec. 11.
