Santa’s Angels opens new space

ATLANTIC BRIEFS DESK SW-BRIEFS@ SALTWIRE.COM

A Charlottetown-based charity has announced it will be delivering a joyful Christmas to families across Prince Edward Island this year and working out of a new, temporary headquarters.

Since 2004, Santa's Angels, a 100 per cent volunteer-run registered charity, has visited hundreds of homes in the Charlottetown area on Christmas morning to help those who cannot provide gifts and food for their children and families.

These surprise visits come with Santa, elves, Christmas gifts, food for a holiday dinner and a good measure of smiles and Christmas joy.

Santa and his elves will also visit seniors’ homes, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and other care facilities.

This year, the charity will have temporary headquarters in the Royalty Crossing Mall.

This space, across from Christmas Discounters, will provide more room for meetings as well as collecting, sorting and packing donations in Santa’s big red bags.

Cash donations can be made at any Credit Union across P.E.I., or online at www.santasangels.ca.

Toys may be dropped off at all Credit Unions and Christmas Discounter stores across P.E.I., as well as Canadian Tire, Toys R Us, Smitty's Family Restaurant, Sams Family Restaurant in Cornwall, Founders Food Hall and Market, Mcdonalds Restaurants in Charlottetown, Summerside and Montague, in addition to other spots listed on their website https://santasangels.ca/.

Santa will be at the Etsy market at the Delta Hotel in Charlottetown on Dec. 3 and 4 and there will be a photo booth where people or pets can get pictures with Santa for a donation. Santa will be at Boston Pizza on Dec. 7 for lunch and supper, and a portion of all sales for the day will be donated to Santa's Angels.
