Gas, diesel prices drop, furnace oil increases

The price of gas went down overnight but people who heat with oil will be paying more after the latest adjustment from the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission.

In its adjustment, which went into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 2, IRAC said the price of gas dropped 5.0 cents per litre (cpl).

IRAC also said the price of diesel went down 2.5 cpl while the cost of furnace oil increased 7.5 cpl.

With the changes, the price of regular self-serve gas ranges from 158.4 to 159.5 cpl.

The maximum price of furnace oil is 174.9 cp and diesel prices range from 263.1 to 264.3 cpl.

There were also changes to propane prices, which range from 91.0 to 91.6 cpl.

IRAC’S next scheduled pricing adjustment is Dec. 9.
