Man charged following theft from vehicle

Charlottetown police arrested a 39-year-old man after receiving a tip from the public about a suspicious person checking vehicles at a parking lot on Waterview Heights 4 a.m. on Nov. 23.

Several police units patrolled the area where they found a suspect nearby.

The Charlottetown man was taken into custody and charged with theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle as well as breach of probation.

The accused has 15 other unrelated charges pending before the courts and has been remanded in custody.

He is scheduled to appear in provincial court at a later date.
